35

March 9, 2011

Jon had a birthday shout hooray !

If you've ever wondered what 35 year old men do with their time, wonder no more...

Sometimes they do crazy things like attempting circus maneuvers with infants, whilst pulling strange faces, faces that can only be seen when in the company of said infants...

Other days include power tools, and frustration...

They experience first's still like swinging and,

solid foods (or is that semi solids ?) with their babies.

We all think we're pretty lucky to have this particular 35 year old around.

Ode to Joy

Every year the school PAC (Parent Advisory Councils) puts on a talent show in February. My boys have dreamed of participation since the first caught wind of the event. Finally we are developing a talent worthy of sharing with our peers. Before this was problematic as the piano lived in the garage under a mountain of various household sundries. Now that we are in the house, the piano is still in the garage, (long story) and we practice on a fancy keyboard. The boys started taking lessons on October about 2 weeks before Doodle came, and haven't missed a lesson since. They have a great teacher and a mean mom which equals progress.

Nothing says I love you Mom, like mountains, clouds and a thunderbolt so maybe I'm not too mean after all.

Derby Days

Mac (David as he wants to be called at school now) and Isaak had their first Pine Wood Derby on Saturday, what fun! I've always wondered about the inner workings of such scouting events, well I finally got my first peek. It was everything I ever dreamed it to be and more. The cute little scouts everywhere, the dads, the noise,  the excitement. wow.Thankfully both Isaak and Mac won trophies in the wolf category taking a solid 2nd and 3rd place respectably.whew. There for a minute we all worried that Isaak's morose may turn into a full blown depression, alas his car came through and pulled out a win. YAY!

Sometime earlier we were in Albuquerque, and captured this fabulous pic of Mac in the Mac store, a place we all enjoy.

This month Doodle and I went to Arkansas to see Kristal and celebrate her impending triplets. She lives right down the street from the Duggars, how could I not take a picture of that ?

Grant continued his quest at being the foremost adored baby in the universe. To be honest, he's got this one in the bag.

BYU played El Paso in the New Mexico Bowl this past December, we of course went. Here is Isaak being Isaak at the game. It was cold, really cold.

The 8 and under state swim meet was this past weekend, Grant wasn't impressed.

Isaak and Mac were fabulous! They swam hard, and represented RHAA (Ruidoso High Altitude Aquatics) well. Mac swam in his first 2 relays, and swam the IM. Tough work. This was Isaak first "official" meet, he was awesome !

This is just a fraction of the loved ones Grant has been introduced to over the last 3 months. Amazingly enough he is universally adored.

Uncle G is officially off the market !

The past few months have been full of new beginnings. It all started in Sept when Tiphani married Von, then Doodlebug arrived. Mac was baptized. We celebrated the birth of the Savior whom through we are all blessed with the chance at redemption and renewal, then 2011 was born. Now Garrett and Marisol have married. How lucky we are to have such wonderful life events to celebrate.  Everyday I thank my Father in Heaven for the gift of family !

less about the warmth and more about trying to appear slim...

Welcome to the Family Mr. Grant

Grant Foster Ogden finally came. Born at Lincoln County Medical Center on October 14, 2010 his weight was 6 lbs. 12.9 ounces and he was 19 1/2 inches long. Healthy and whole, he is a mellow fellow despite his red hair. Both Mac and Isaak are delighted by his every move and new accomplishment.

getting ready to leave the hospital

Now at 2 months old we are adjusting to life with a baby again. It's easy to forget that babies require a lot of equipment and it's never a good idea to leave home without the diaper bag. It's also easy to forget how magical the first smiles are and how fun it is to have tiny clothes  mixed in with the laundry.

Grant has inherited his Grandfathers eye brow agility.

At his last Dr.'s appt Doodlebug had doubled birth weight and grown five inches. (no wonder he's always so tired). Right now he busy wrapping us around his fingers whilst growing stronger and more alert every moment.

isn't being naked hilarious.

It's been awhile.

 Mac's 1st meet Nov 09

The new house during construction we moved in at the end of Feb

can it be that Pickle is 6 ?

Finally updating the blog, it's been almost a year. What can I say it's been a busy year. We built and moved into a new house, completed first grade and kindergarten, made our way through the majority of a pregnancy with boy #3, had hernia surgery (with a trip to South Padre to aid in the recovery), and 3 birthdays, some swim meets, a little baseball a little soccer, and lots of laughs. There. now you know what we've been doing.

Sunday, October 11, 2009

This past week has been a hum dinger. It started out last Sunday night when Isaak came down with a high fever. Monday after a trip to the doctor who diagnosed him with swine flu the sanitzing commenced. I should have just saved my energy because by the next morning I had been tagged as the next victim. Mac joined the fun on Wednesday. We all proceeded to wallow in misery until that night, when we rallied to welcome Grandma and Grandpa to the party. We enjoyed a quick visit and pray they don't get sick. Saturday we all piled in the car to head to Albuquerque to pick up doors for the house. We being the home improvement stores junkies that we are hit 2 Lowe's and 3 Home Depots. Pathetic isn't it. Mac took a nap in the shopping cart in Costco using my purse as a pillow. (the guilt I felt as a Mom for dragging my sick child around all day store after store knows no bounds) Half way home we realized we forgot a key item on the list and I headed to Alamogordo this morning to pick it up. Tonight as we get into bed I can only hope for peaceful, quiet day at home tomorrow with the boys.
